Your skin is the largest organ of your body. It protects you from outside elements, senses touch, absorbs products, excretes toxins, secretes oil, and regulates heat. Its got a lot of jobs to do, and it takes good are of us 24/7. I think we all agree it deserves a little care in return. part of that care is nourishing our skin from the inside out.
Like this super-antioxidant salad for instance. Salad greens, spinach, kale, avocado, broccoli, grapes, roasted pear, blueberries, onion, sunflower seeds, and almonds.
That all sounds delicious but is it really doing anything for your skin? Let's break some of these ingredients down like a fraction and find out!
- Spinach - tons of iron to help red blood cells oxygenate the skin
- Kale - there are numerous benefits of kale to the skin but let's just focus on one. High levels of vitamin K get rid of pesky dark circles. and we can all use that (am I right ladies?)
- Broccoli - contains an antioxidant called glucoraphanin that boosts productivity of detoxifying enzymes in our body
- Sunflower Seeds - high in repairing vitamin E and melanin producing Copper
Little choices in our nutrition each day can be our way of giving back to our skin for a job well done!
